“ We were skeptical of all 5* reviews BUT what an amazing surprise. This place has an amazing vibe. Overlooking the horse training area, the beautiful grounds and the mountain. We enjoyed the hummus tapa and the special of the night, grouper. Food was cooked fresh right next to the dining room. Everything was delicious. When others say it is the best hummus they have ever had, they are not lying. The drinks were also great! This restaurant is worthy of the 5* reviews and we wish them nothing but the best with their future success! ”

“ I have waited too long to give this place a review. I have been here twice and after the first time. I decided that I needed to wait until my return visit to give them an honest review. We arrived here for a night cap after eating dinner on our first visit. We were greeted with the best hospitality. From seating to helping us order. We had the pork belly and their sautee peppers along with 2 drinks recommended by the owners. While waiting for our meal to arrive (as mentioned, we just came from dinner), we truly enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. There is something here between the soft lighting, the cool night breeze, and the comfort of the place that let time pass unknowingly. The food arrived, and when I said it was amazing. It truly is an experience that should not be missed. The pork belly, cooked to perfection between perfectly chewy and the fat emulsified to the point where it sticks to your teeth. Along with the aoli and veggies is truly breathtaking. Then, their peppers. The perfect mix of savory and the little chance of finding one with a bit of a bite made them unforgettable. So much so that we ordered another plate of them. This experience was so amazing that I needed to return to make sure that our experience was true and not just a lucky night. So we returned a second time. Ordering some johnny Walker with coconut water from coconuts right there on the property. (They were not tourist drinks. They had an amazing bite to them) we ordered another plate of pork belly and their pickled veggies. (They were out of peppers). The 2 were a perfect complement of each other. Where we were lost in every bite. Not even able to truly express how we felt about each morsel we truly enjoyed. This place is definitely my favorite spot to come eat. I love everything about this place. From the 2 owners to their food and their drinks. Don't miss out. Stop by here if you have a chance. You won't be disappointed. This place is truly amazing. ”

“ We stopped in here on a whim when traveling through the area. Jason and Elizabeth made us feel like we were at home. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the area was impeccable. We had ordered a beer cheese and bread special and it was nothing short of fantastic. As a group we had ordered both the burgers and the salmon and everything came out absolutely fantastic. This food would 100% be worth any detour. And to go along with the food the drinks were also impeccable with the house drinks being delicious. This experience was one of the best dinning experiences we have ever had. Jason had also given us carrots at the end of our meal and we were able to feed the horses that were on property further elevating our amazing experience. ”

“ What a Fantastic experience. This is a beautiful elegant bar & top notch restaurant over looking a horse riding arena. So sophisticated, so beautiful. I thought I was in ASPEN! So relaxed.and at half the price. Experience an elegant Wild West world just a 35 minute drive from San Juan. Tucked into a lavish land mark Hotel “the Hacienda Siesta Alegra Hotel” . A 100 acre horse ranch high above the city skirting the El Yunque jungle. I rate this experience a TEN! A must see! ”

“ As all of the other reviews say, this place is INCREDIBLE. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the cocktails … and the service! We had a few of the tapas — crispy potatoes, white bean hummus& mixed greens — with the Churrasco! Finished it all off with the coconut flan. Jason was so nice, gave us a ton of info about the restaurant and the property itself. 10/10 & will be back! (PS - if i could change anything about our experience it would be to come right at sunset so you could see a glimpse of the property!) ”

“ This was one of the best dinners we have ever had. One of the owners Jason spent a lot of time talking to us, telling us about the history of the restaurant, and about all the different food options. It was really interesting to learn the story of The Hitching Post, and if I ever go back to Puerto Rico I would go back multiple times!the appetizers and cocktails were incredible. For mains, we had the burger and the veggies plate. The food was so fantastic and fresh, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was magical. An open, wooden restaurant that was overlooking the equestrian arena and had the mountains off in the distance. Also, The location is on a horse farm where you're able to go and visit the horses and feed them carrots. This was the perfect finish to an incredible dinner. ”

“ We visited The Hitching Post after it came highly recommended, and it lived up to every bit of the hype. The drive alone is beautiful, but the food and atmosphere completely blew us away. We started with a few tapas: the crispy potatoes, white bean hummus, and a special pork belly dish. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. The hummus was especially smooth and bright, and the pork belly practically melted in our mouths. We also had fresh coconut water sourced right from the property. It was crisp, refreshing, and unlike anything store-bought. For entrées: • The kids had the “El Doble” cheeseburger and couldn’t stop raving about it. Honestly, I think it was the best burger I’ve ever had. The aioli took it over the top. • My husband got the churrasco steak, grilled just right and full of flavor with the house chimichurri. • I had the grouper, which was soft, buttery, and beautifully paired with marble potatoes and broccolini. The staff was so kind and welcoming. Everyone we met took the time to talk with us, answer questions, and show us around the property. It felt like we were visiting old friends. We also had the chance to chat with Jason, the owner. He was so generous with his time and knowledge. You can tell how much care and heart goes into every part of the experience. This wasn’t just a dinner, it was a true highlight of our trip. If you’re anywhere near San Juan, make the short trip to Río Grande and go. You won’t regret it. Edited to add the flan, which I can’t believe I forgot. It was velvety, smooth, creamy, and the perfect mixture of sweet and tangy. Truly one of the best I’ve ever had. ”
